21st June 2009 Advocacy Meeting for Visually Challenged People.

Caliber & Arvic jointly arranged one day Advocacy meeting for Visually Challenged People at Dr.P.G.V. Charitable Trust - Tailoring & Empowerment Centre for persons with Disabilities, G.N.Mills, Coimbatore -29.

Forty five visually challenged people and ten locomotive disabled persons and eight voluntary college students participated in that advocacy meeting. Mr.Srinivasan retired professor and also president for Rights for visually challenged spoke about the problem in opening account in banks and Reserve Bank Guide line to open an account for visually challenged. Mr.Surya, President of Caliber spoke about the self employment like news paper carry bag. How to produce and marketing the news paper carry bag. Mr.Sounderraj told about the thermal pressure, pressure points of the body, massage methods, types of massage like oil massage, powder massage. He explain “ How to learn and earn visually challenged people in that field?” Mr.Sekaran Executive Director UDIS Forum, told about the employment opportunity and self employment. He point out the new product for marketing. Mr. Balaji, social activist gave a set of note books to Saravana kumar a poor disabled boy studying in 9th standard at Asokapuram Govt.Boys Higher Secondary School. Lunar foot wear producers K.K.Savadi sponsored 35 pair of foot wear to visually challenged people. Caliber provides tea and lunch for all the participants.
