S.D. Jayashree, who provides job training for the hearing impaired, has been honoured with the Mahatma Gandhi award for her service. Ms. Jayashree, who is hearing impaired and an employee of India Post, has been conducting the training for the last six years in her spare time.
In recognition for her services, Puthiya Puyal, a magazine for the differently-abled, honoured her with the award here on Sunday. It was given away by Founder-Editor of the magazine S. Arumugam in the presence of Surya Nagappan, trustee of UDIS Forum.
